MEET THE DESIGNER

Tali Cohen-Flantz

Tali grew up in Israel, a hometown surrounded by countryside and market gardens and home to first and second generation settlers from all over the world. “My grandmother and grandfather from my mother’s side were from Tunisia and from my father’s side Persia. The Moshav was a vibrant place of cultures meeting.

We were the kids of the second generation that had managed to build and establish a very large and connected community.” This sense of connection and cultural diversity permeates all of Tali’s work. From her everyday ceramic tableware to her sculptural artworks even the way she shares her skills in her Mullumbimby studio through ceramic workshops.

Coming from a very traditional background Tali’s work reflects an honouring of ceremony, tradition and family. Tali’s slow living ethos and commitment to creating one of a kind handmade ceramics is reflected in her process. Each item is handmade, her ceramic tableware is unique and thoughtfully handcrafted.

Her ceramics studio in Mullumbimby is a space that welcomes the community through Tali’s ceramic workshops, as well as a public creative workshop space.

ABOUT OUR CERAMICS

Hand Made in Australia

All of our pieces are made in-house and by hand using clays sourced from our Australian landscape. We fire to the highest stoneware temperatures and use food-safe glazes to ensure the most durable, functional products possible.

Our contemporary design evokes understated style that you will love for generations. From bowls, mugs to plates and serving ware, our ceramics are destined to become table favourites for years to come ~ the perfect ceramics for both daily meals and celebrations.

We are also proud suppliers to many amazing restaurants and beautiful boutiques ~ both locally, across Australia and the world.

VISIT OUR STORE AND STUDIO

Mullumbimby Studio

Situated in the Byron Bay Hinterland in Mullumbimby, Keramika Ceramics Studio is a popular destination for locals and visitors to the area. As you walk through the doors you can see a full display of gorgeous handmade tableware & gifts.

Open to the public for hire as a creative workshop space, ceramics & wet/dry art space, we welcome your bookings.

We offer communal firings on a regular basis to hire, or you can book a whole kiln to use just for yourself.

We invite you to visit us in our studio and view, touch and hold the ceramics in person. You can also enjoy watching Tali at work in the adjoining studio or join us for one of our ceramic workshops.

Our studio shop is open weekdays, 10am ~ 2pm or by appointment
